Where the Outreach Engine stops

The Outreach Engine sends the pitch, follows up, and files the reply for you to answer. That is fine when replies are rare. When they are not, answering fifty publishers who each want a different price becomes the bottleneck.

Reading the reply properly

Absolute reads each reply and works out what the publisher actually said: whether they accepted, refused, asked a question, or quoted a price — and if they quoted, how much, in which currency.

Negotiating

Up to three rounds of counter-offers, inside limits you set. You decide the most you will pay and the price below which there is no point arguing.

• Anything at or below your accept-without-negotiating price is simply accepted — negotiating over a few dollars costs more in emails than it saves
• Anything above your ceiling is declined politely
• Prices quoted in other currencies are converted at the European Central Bank's daily rate
• After three rounds it stops, whatever the outcome

Closing

When a price is agreed, the engine records the terms — the amount, the currency, what was promised — against that prospect, so what was agreed is written down rather than buried in a thread.

What it costs

0.2 credits per email, the same as the Outreach Engine. Negotiation emails are emails; there is no separate negotiation fee.

Which one do I need?

If you answer replies yourself and prefer to, the Outreach Engine is enough. If replies are piling up and negotiating over price is what stops you scaling, that is what Absolute is for.
